Meeting most often in the sunny Ft. Myers/Naples area of Florida, The Southwest Florida Chapter is on the Gulf of Mexico side of the state, south of Tampa (Florida Suncoast Chapter) and across Alligator Alley, west of Miami (South Florida Chapter). The Southwest Florida Chapter was created in 1984 having spun off form the Miami (South Florida) Chapter. The chapter encompasses Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry counties. Our members cover the entire insurance and risk management industry; agents, brokers, reinsurers, adjusters, risk managers and consultants, both active and retired.
Over the years we have been involved with local insurance issues and professionals as well as supporting CPCU candidates by holding local study sessions and providing exam locations out of member’s offices.
With so much of our population being seasonal and escaping the cold of the north, we would like to think of ourselves as a home away from home for our seasonal visitors and welcome them to join us at our meetings and social events. Your expertise and experience would provide additional motivation to CPCU Candidates as well as local CPCU’s who always like to learn more about our industry and issues outside of Florida.
We currently meet quarterly for lunch, but hope to schedule evening receptions and additional meetings during the winter “season” based on interest. Please let us know if you will be in Southwest Florida and would like to get together with fellow CPCU’s.
